How to Fix the Top Notch Toddler Reward Trait

So I was just playing my third generation Spellcaster the other day and as they were about to grow up from a toddler into a child; My toddler had all their skills maxed out, which meant they were eligible for the Top Notch Toddler reward trait. But jokes on me. They grew up, but the trait wasn’t there. Sigh.

There are some mods – such as MC Command Center – which can help you reward the trait after your Sim has grown up into a child or older. However, as Console Players are not able to play with mods I looked further for a solution. Unfortunately for those who do not like to cheat in their game, I have some bad news for you…

Cheats for the Happy Toddler & Top Notch Toddler Traits

The only fix for this bug seems to be rewarding the trait by using cheats. You will need to either give your toddler a hidden trait, which will trigger the reward as they grow up OR reward the trait to your Sim directly, if they are already grown up into a child.

All cheats are tested by our own team first before posting them here. We made sure they work properly and are safe to use in your game.

Turn on Testing Cheats

These cheats require you to turn on Testing Cheats, so let’s do that first. Open up your Cheat Console and enter testingcheats true. You can now enter more cheats than before.

CheatResult
traits.equip_trait trait_Happy_Toddler_HiddenGive this to a toddler, to trigger the Happy Toddler reward upon aging up.
traits.equip_trait trait_Top_Notch_Toddler_HiddenGive this to a toddler, to trigger the Top Notch Toddler reward upon aging up.
traits.equip_trait trait_Happy_ToddlerGive this to a child or older Sim, to reward them the Happy Toddler trait.
traits.equip_trait trait_Top_Notch_ToddlerGive this to a child or older Sim, to reward them the Top Notch Toddler trait.

And that’s all! If you prefer to play without cheats you can turn off testing cheats again. Just change true to false and it’s switched off. Happy Simming!
