Write Spooky Novels as a Ghost Historian

Quite the wordsmith in the making, your Sim is passionate about the darker themes in life – or should we say afterlife – as they aspire to be a Ghost Historian. They like to write about anything spooky as they draw inspiration from historical facts and ghastly legends. Let’s go through the aspiration step by step.

This aspiration is only available with The Sims 4 Life & Death.

Prepare for your Aspiration Goals

As an author-to-be, your Sim will spend a lot of time with their head in a book; whether written by them or someone else. Here are some quick tips to prepare.

• Add Thanatology & Writing activities to your Sim’s Likes in Create a Sim.
• Buy the Brave reward trait for 8.000 Satisfaction Points. Brave Sims are less likely to get scared by Ghosts.
• Sims with the Idea Person trait finish writing books at higher speed. They can also remove the Writer’s Block moodlet faster. Unlock this reward trait by completing the Creative Genius aspiration as a Child.

Reach the Aspiration Milestones

The Ghost Historian aspiration has four milestones in total. We’ve explained each of the goals below.

Getting in the Spirit

• Befriend a Ghost
  Find a Ghost. Befriend it. Yeah, that’s pretty much it.
• Achieve Level 2 Thanatology Skill
  Increase your Sim’s Thanatology skill to level 2. Find a bookshelf and use the Look up Historical Deaths interactions to start.
• Achieve Level 2 Writing Skill
  Increase your Sim’s Writing skill to level 2. You can do so by using a computer to practise writing.

Tip! The Club Eternity nightclub in Mourningvale is a great place to meet new Ghosts to befriend.

Writer Among Wraiths

• Befriend Another Ghost
  Find another Ghost. Befriend it. Good job, you now have 2 Ghost friends!
• Find a Rare Item in a Crypt
  Enter the Crypt of Eternity and use the Explore the Underground Crypts interaction. Keep on exploring until your Sim finds a rare collectible.
• Achieve Level 3 Thanatology Skill
  Increase your Sim’s Thanatology skill to level 3.
• Achieve Level 4 Writing Skill
  Increase your Sim’s Writing skill to level 4.

Phantasmal Fantasy

• Find a Rare Item in a Crypt
  Enter the Crypts again and explore until you find your second rare collectible.
• Make Contact with Edith
  Visit the Well of Longing and Regret and successfully communicate with Edith, the angry Ghost Child who is tormenting the place.
• Achieve Level 7 Writing Skill
  Increase your Sim’s Writing skill to level 7.

Spectrally Spectacular

• Write a Horror Book
  As your Sim reached Writing level 7, they unlocked the ability to write books of the horror genre. 
• Earn Royalties from Publishing Books
  Publish your completed books by clicking on the mailbox. Now wait for the royalties to come in.
