Horse Ranch Cheats

Turn them into a Champion Horse without ever competing! 

All cheats are tested by our own team first before posting them here. We made sure they work properly and are safe to use in your game. Find more of our cheats on the masterlist!

Turn on Testing Cheats

Most of these cheats require you to turn on Testing Cheats, so let’s do that first. Open up your Cheat Console and enter testingcheats true. You can now enter more cheats than before.

Getting the Sim ID for Cheats

Some cheats require you to find out the Sim ID of a Sim or pet first. This can be your own Sims, but it also works for Sims you do not play. Enter Sims.get_Sim_id_by_name {FirstName} {LastName} to find their ID. 

Keep a space between their First and Last Names. If you need a space elsewhere you can use an underscore. For example, my Sim would be called Sena Sims_Academy.
If they don’t have a Last Name you can leave this blank.

Add a Dash of Personality

No more waiting around for the stars to align through Breeding and Competitions to unlock special Traits for your majestic Horses. Oh no! With our Cheat, you’ll be smirking at those traditional methods as your beloved Animals gain more interesting Personality Traits, without ever lifting a finger… Well, only to type in these Cheats, but you get the point! You can also add more of the regular Traits as well.

Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Gameplay_EquestrianCenter_ChampionHorse	Champion Horse These Horses worked hard to get where they are now, but they have the Reward Trait to prove it! Their Foals will inherit their winner mentality.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Gameplay_HorseBreeding_ChampionGenes	Champion Genes Born from a Champion Horse, these Horses will Train their Skills faster and are of higher value if you’d like to sell them.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Gameplay_RewardTrait_TopNotchFoal	Well-Mannered Foal Much like Top-Notch Infants & Toddlers, but make it a Horse… Well Trained in the Temperament Skill when they were young, Well-Mannered Horses will have an easier time Training their Skills.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Gameplay_Curious	Curious Curious Horses love to explore! These adventurers love to exercise with Jumping Rails and Barrels.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Gameplay_Resilient	Hardy These resilient Horses have a higher stamina than most. They get fatigued slower than other Horses, but they’ll need to eat more often.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Gameplay_Playful	Playful Horses are all about having Fun! They love toys and playing with other Sims & Animals, but their Fun Need also decays a bit faster.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Personality_Aggressive	Aggressive Aggressive Horses with mean tendencies. They have a harder time getting along with others and are therefore harder to Train as well.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Personality_Brave	Brave Brave Horses know no fear! They are rarely scared of anything and will confidently conquer Jumping Rails and Barrels.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Personality_Defiant	Defiant Stubbornness is the first word that comes to mind to describe Defiant Horses. They are slower to Train their Skills because of it and might fail more often. On purpose, of course.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Personality_Energetic	Energetic Greatly talented in any athletic skill they do, but not so much when it comes to the Temperament skill. Sims with the Horse Lover Trait vibe really well with Energetic Horses.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Personality_Fearful	Fearful Easily spooked by anything around them, Fearful Horses are simply way too anxious to Train their Temperament skill.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Personality_FreeSpirit	Free Spirit Free Spirited Horses love spending their time outdoors and will feel cooped up when they are inside for too long.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Personality_Friendly	Friendly Pretty much the opposite of Aggressive Horses… Friendly Horses are nice to Sims and Animals alike!
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Personality_Independent	Independent Don’t pity an Independent Horse who’s hanging out by themselves; they actually don’t mind! Even their Social Need decreases more slowly.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Personality_Intelligent	Intelligent It is as if Intelligent Horses speak Simlish! They seem to understand your Sims better when talking to them, making it easier to Train them in any of their Skills!
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Personality_Mellow	Mellow Mellow Horses just aren’t bothered by anything, ever. This makes it easier to Train them in the Temperament skill, but you might want to buckle up trying to do anything athletic with them…
Traits.equip_trait trait_Horse_Personality_Needy	Needy Social interactions are the key to life for Needy Horses and without them their Social Need will decay a lot faster than usual.

When using the Cheats starting with Traits.equip_trait you can change the word equip to remove if you want to remove the Trait from your Horse.

Become the Best Nectar-Making Cowboy

Additionally, there are a few new Traits for Sims too. Check out these Personality & Reward Traits.

Traits.equip_trait trait_MasterTrainer	Grand Champ Trainer This Sim is great with Horses. Horses gain Skills faster when being Trained by them & will enjoy their time doing so. Overall, Horses owned by Grand Champ Trainers are of higher value too.
Traits.equip_trait trait_NectarKnowItAll	Nectar Know-it-All Gain the ability to craft pre-aged Nectar. Drinking Nectar also has less effect on this Sim.
Traits.equip_trait trait_HorseLover	Horse Lover This Sims just loves horses and will find it easier to socialize and care for them.
Traits.equip_trait trait_Rancher	Rancher From caring for the Animals of the ranch to cleaning up their manure. These Sims don’t mind at all! In fact, they actually enjoy it.

Skills for You & Your Horses

Become the best Rider Chestnut Ridge has ever seen! With these Cheats you can skip all the hours training – for both your Sim AND their Horses – and max out their Skills in a matter of seconds.

You can also lower the number – to a minimum of 1 – to set the Skill of your Sim or Horse to a specific level. This can be used to decrease their Skill level.

Befriend your Horses Instantly… or not?

Of course we love to take the time to hang out with our Horses, nurture bonds and all that good stuff. But what if you want to skip ahead a bit & become instant best buddies? Or maybe try the opposite and become enemies with a scary Unicorn… So many storyline ideas…

Modifyrelationship {SimFirstName} {SimLastName} {HorseFirstName} {HorseLastName} {number} LTR_SimToPet_Friendship_Main	Change the relationship bar between a Sim and a Horse.

You’ll need to pick a number between 1 & 100 for positive effects, or between -1 & -100 for negative effects.

Fear of Horses

So back to my scary Unicorn pitch. Why not kick it up a notch and make your Sim actually fear them?

Traits.equip_trait trait_Fear_Horses	Your Sim is now Scared of Horses!

Just like with the Reward Traits Cheats, you can change the word equip to remove if you want your Sim to conquer their Fear of Horses.

Quick Disclaimer

The cheats in the next section of this post require the All Cheats Mod or are unstable when using them. Because of this we can not guarantee they are completely safe. Using these cheats might break your game or current save file, therefore we advise you to use them wisely and at your own risk.

Riding Bareback

If you don’t have time to watch the video above or you simply just want to read the “how to” instead, here we go. You can ride your Horses without a Saddle, but it does require a few steps to achieve this. While the first two Cheats used do not need the All Cheats Mod to work, they are a bit unstable and sometimes will not work properly. Reloading the game or the current lot might help with this.

1. Mount the Horse.

2. Get the Sim ID of the Horse

3. Enter the following Cheat: Traits.remove_trait trait_Horse_Gameplay_Mounted {SimID}

4. Check if the Reins are gone, if so it worked. If not, reloading might be needed.

5. Use Horse Care – Change Outfit to change into an Everyday Outfit.

6. Wait for the Horse to Change the Outfit with your Sim still on them.

Tip! Use an Everyday Outfit where the Horse wears a Halter before the following step, otherwise the Reins are attached to your Horse’s face.

Your Sim is now technically sitting on your Horse without a Saddle, you can leave it as is or decide to return the Reins to your Sim’s hands. The next part requires the All Cheats Mod…

7. Enter the following Cheat: Sims.add_buff buff_HorseRiding_AppearanceModifier_Reins {SimID}

Invisible Stirrups Override by Kalino

For those among us who can – and are willing to – play with Mods, The Kalino has posted a small Mod to override the Stirrups and make them disappear. Great to combine with our Bareback Riding Cheat. Kalino, you’re a lifesaver!

Unicorns & Sparkling Horses

Remember that scary Unicorn I was talking about? The pink sparkles they get from having a Horn makes it less intimidating. Let’s fix that real quick!

Cheat Code	Result
Sims.remove_buff  buff_AutonomyMod_UnicornHorn {SimID}	Remove the sparkling effect from your Unicorn.
Sims.remove_buff buff_AutonomyMod_UnicornHorn_C {SimID}	Remove the sparkling effect from your Unicorn Foal.

The Cheat also works the other way around! Change remove to add to give a regular Horse sparkles.

Keep in mind that Cheats starting with Sims.add_buff will remain only when you stay on your current lot. Reloading the game, entering Create-a-Sim or traveling will most likely remove the effects.
