Crazy Cat Lady Challenge

We’ve all heard stories about the loner living amongst a bunch of cats. The Crazy Cat Lady – or Crazy Cat Sim if you will – is an urban legend. Seeing one ‘in the wild’ is a rare sight, as they prefer to stay at home with their cats. So how do you recognize them? Simple. They wear cozy clothes – probably ones covered in cat hair – and they usually do not interact much with Sims around them.

Today we are going to embrace this lovely stereotype and become the ultimate Crazy Cat Sim. But what distinguishes your Crazy Cat Sim from mere cat-loving individuals? Probably the fact that they keep their beloved pets very close, some might say maybe a little too close…

How to Start the Challenge

• Create a young-adult or adult Sim with the Cat-lover & Loner traits. Feel free to pick any other trait as the third.
  • We recommend the Erratic, Hates Children or Socially Awkward traits for this.
• Feel free to play any occult, but make sure to check out their special rules!
• Create 3 adult cats and give each of them at least one negative trait. Pick one of the following: Aloof, Fluffy, Glutton, Mischievous, Skittish, Spoiled or Territorial.
  • We know, neither trait is negative in your eyes, but still…
• Move your Sim and their cats into a 20×15 or a 20×20 lot.
  • You may use the FreeRealEstate On cheat to purchase your home.
• Give your home Lot Traits and/or Lot Challenges if you want to.
  • We recommend the Cat Hangout trait.
• Set the lifespan of your game to Normal. Find this setting in the Gameplay Options Menu.

Get the Look!

As you are setting up the challenge, you may want to dress your Sim in some good ol’ “Crazy Cat person fashion”. You wear the love for cats on your sleeves, literally. Check out our lookbook for some examples.

The Rules of the Crazy Cat Lady Challenge

• Your Sim can not have a job. You can cheat some extra money instead.
• Your Sim will only socialize with cats.
  • If they happen to talk to a human thanks to autonomy, do a mean interaction & stop the conversation.
• You may keep your Sim alive with Potions of Youth.
• New cats can be added to the family in three different ways:
  • Adopt a cat, once one of your others died of old age.
  • Befriend a stray and invite them to the family.
  • Breed two of your own cats to get a kitten.
• Add the ghosts of your beloved pets back into the family.
  • You can only do this to kitties you owned before their demise.
• If any of your cats get taken away due to neglect, you lose the challenge immediately.

Playing as an Occult

• You can play any occult Sims you want.
• If your Sim is able to become immortal, you are allowed to do so.
• Vampires can only drink from Sims against their will, so no asking for Plasma!
  • You could also just consume Plasma packs, fruits or drinks instead.
• As Sims react badly towards rampaging Werewolves, you can let them roam free when they’re going mad.

The Goal of the Challenge

Through the course of the challenge, your Sim will have seven cats in total. Your goal is to invite back all of their ghosts back into the family once each cat passes on. The challenge is finished once you invite the seventh ghost kitty into your household. Congratulations, you are now the Craziest Cat Sim of all!
